There are a lot of students and staff out with very bad coughs and sore throats. The school has a zero sick policy. If your student is sick, please keep them home so that we can keep other students and staff from getting sick.

Good morning Gambell! After monitoring the incoming storm we have decided to dismiss at 12:30. We would like the students to have rides home if they are little or have someone to walk home with.
NACTEC STEM CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to the unpredictability of the incoming storm, the STEM Club will meet today and through the weekend.
Today, Elementary will meet at 3:30 in the Elementary Yupik Room, Middle School will meet at 3:30 in Maggie's classroom.
Tomorrow, Elementary and Middle School will meet in the same rooms after Atuq.
Saturday and Sunday Elementary and Middle School will meet in the same rooms at 1:00 pm.

We are planning to have Friday 9/16 remain normal start time for school despite the wind. With that being said the safety of our students is our highest priority so we will keep monitoring the weather, and update as needed. The after-school tutoring program is designed to help students with their homework, assignments, and projects, or just to provide them with a place to study after school.
Tutors can help them finish their academic work.
Please send the students to the HS Science room.

Good morning Sivuqaq! A few things to know for today, 9/9. TB nurses will still be checking students today at the school. Adults can get checked at the city building. Atuq from 2:00-2:30, dismissal at 2:30. There is a community suicide prevention walk starting at 2:30 here at the school and it will end at the clinic. You can run, walk, and ride. There will be prizes at the end. And then there is an open house at the school from 6-7:30! We look forward to seeing everyone on this busy day!

The state is here giving TB tests for students. We have to have signed permission forms or you can call them at 907-538-7740 to give verbal consent for your child. They are also at the city building from 9am -7pm today to serve the community as well.

Monday, Sept. 5th at 4PM our Mighty Qughsatkut and King Cub teams will play basketball games and we will sell plates of hamurgers and hotdogs thanks to the AC!

There will be admission and plates of food for sale.

Please remember to return the Tuberculosis Screening permission slip, as well as the permission slip to have your child's eyes screened. If glasses are needed, Tundra Health will send two pairs of glasses, one for home and one to keep here at school.
Mark the date!! On Sept. 9th there will be an open house at the school from 6-7:30 pm. Come meet your students' teachers and administration. There will also be a migrant ed. meeting. Cake will be served.

A few reminders for the upcoming week. There will be no school on Friday or Monday in observance of Labor Day. Beginning September 6th, students arriving after 9:10 am will be placed on gym list. However, students who arrive on time to school everyday during a week will have their names placed in a drawing to win a prize. The homeroom with the best on time attendance during the quarter will win a pizza party and movie day. Let's make every effort to get our kids to school on time each day.
