We’ll start bright and early with breakfast at 8:20am, followed by an all-student assembly in the gym at 9:00am. It will be a wonderful time to gather together, celebrate the start of a new year, and send our students off with encouragement and joy. ✨
Parents and guardians: if you have not yet enrolled your child, please bring them tomorrow morning! We will be accepting enrollment packets in the school office (and we’ll have extra packets ready if you still need to fill one out). Every student is welcome, and we are excited to see each one of them.

Led by the amazing Ms. Janine, this program will feature fun reading activities, games, and learning adventures designed to keep kids engaged and growing all summer long. 🍎📖
📍 Location: Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms
🍿 Snacks provided daily
🤝 Parent Participation encouraged — come read, play, or just cheer!
🎯 Priority Enrollment:
Spots will first go to selected students in grades K-3 — those families have already been contacted. Remaining seats will open soon to the general school community.

This year’s celebration will be especially meaningful—a film crew from Giant Screen Films will be here to capture the beauty and joy of our traditions. 🎥✨ They are working on a documentary, supported by the National Science Foundation, that will share Indigenous knowledge and celebrate Yupik culture, music, and art. 🧊🎶🎨
The project has land use agreements with Sivuqaq, Inc. and Kukulget, Inc., and filming plans have been developed in partnership with local advisors and producers, including Wallace Ungwiluk and Chris Koonooka.
We would love for you to be part of this special moment. Come celebrate with us, dance with us, and close out the school year as one strong community. 🫶🏽🌊
