RABIES confirmed in a Gambell stray dog, March 15 The dog developed symptoms March 11th; it was put down that day & submitted for testing. It was a stray, 20-30lbs, black/white/tan color. WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are looking for anyone between March 1st-11th that may have been exposed:  Bitten or scratched by this dog.  Licked by this dog on eyes, mouth, or on open wounds. **If exposed to this dog between March 1-11, notify the Gambell Clinic immediately.**

Good Afternoon: I hope everyone is having a fun and relaxing Spring Break. Just a reminder that school starts again on Monday, March 21, with breakfast being served at 8:20. Yupik days are next week. March 23-25. We are excited that we will have visitors from other villages here to share in the festivities. More announcements to come.

Good Afternoon: Earlier there was a fox that appeared to have blood on it and may have been rabid. It was seen near the school. The school has not had any information whether the fox has been killed. The administration highly recommends that parents pick up their children. If a community member has information on whether or not the fox has been killed, please call the school. Thanks!

Yesterday was Read Across America. The 1st grade class dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters.

Good Afternoon Sivuqaghhmiit. School is staying in session until 3 PM but if you feel you need to pick up your child/ren, you can do so and it will be excused. As always it is parents choice, thank you! We encourage the Elementary students to be picked up or go home with an older sibling/relative. Please share!
