I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. We need your help with our Yearbook Cover design. Our theme is: "Our Language, Our Culture, Our Way of Life". For the cover we are going to feature the Island while listing the SLI Yupik Values. You can help us by submitting pictures for the values. We are asking for pictures that represent each of the following values:
- Listen with your heart and mind
- Honor Family
- Give service to others
- Never give up
- Respect all living things
- Remember advice of elders
- Plan for the future
- Be independent
- Avoid Laziness
- Gather Knowledge and wisdom

Because of the vandalism, open gym is cancelled until further notice until administration gets information regarding the person(s) involved in the incident.
Good Morning Gambell Schools,
I hope that everyone had a restful holiday weekend. Unfortunately, the school suffered some vandalism over the long weekend. It appears that someone was "drifting" on their Honda and crashed into one of the windows in front of the school.
Due to vandalism at the school that occurred late last night, open gym will be closed until further notice. We will sent out a message when open gym will resume. If you have any information regarding the incident, please call the school and speak to Jamie or Steve.

Good Afternoon Gambell Community
There will be open gym with the following safety precautions in place.
All students and community members participating in open gym must come with a mask and wear it when not participating on the court. Any person that is not wearing a mask will be asked to wear one. Any person that does not have a mask will not be admitted or will be asked to leave. The school will not provide masks.
We want to keep the school open and students, staff, and community members safe. Please, do your part to keep the gym open to the community.
Hello Gambell School and community. What a great Saturday! Just a reminder that Gambell School will be in GREEN next week beginning on Tuesday. On Monday, November 15, 2021 starting at 9:00 am, we will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences. All students must bring a parent, unless the family is on quarantine or in isolation. If you are in isolation or in quarantine, please, contact the school so that we may do a phone conference with you, or text your child's teacher. All persons entering the school must wear a mask. The school does not have extra masks, so please make sure you bring one or you will be asked to return with a mask. Have a great weekend!
Good Afternoon Gambell Community
First of all I would like to thank our veterans for the service to our country. Secondly, I would like to remind ALL veterans to please come to the school and pick up a meal in thanks for your service. If you know of a veteran please let them know.
Red Week Challenge:
Everyday: Daily Journal or read something for at least 20 mins a day.
Day 3/Wednesday: Upcycle any materials to create a piece of art or project. Bonus entry: create a story for your art.

Good Morning Sivuqaghhmiit! We hope you are doing well! This week we are doing challenges for homework. We will be doing a raffle for prizes! Complete the challenges for entries! There will be an everyday piece to every challenge with an additional daily challenge. Do both and get double raffle entries! Contact Maggie with the pictures/texts of completing the challenges! We will post the challenge later today.
Middle School & High Schoolers: this will be your homework for the week.
Elem. students: You are welcome to participate in addition to your packets. Please send pictures or texts of you completing your packets. If you want an extra entry for the raffle, you can participate in the day's challenge as well.

Here is a list of important dates to remember:
Veteran's Day will be celebrated on 11/11/21 by giving meals to our veterans in recognition of their service. Please, come by the school and pick up your meal from 11:30 am until 2:00 pm. Again, thank you for your service!
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held from 9 am to 3 pm on 11/15/21. All students must bring a parent/guardian and have their report cards signed by their teachers in order to be eligible for open gym and/or sports travel.
Seniors and their guardians need to meet with their homeroom teacher and Jamie Bachmann, Assistant Principal, to go over their senior advisement forms. Again, this must happen for seniors to be eligible for open gym and/or sports travel.

Christmas Vacation 12/20/21-1/3/22 School re-opens January 4.
Good Afternoon Gambell School Families:
Due to the increasing number of positive COVID cases in Gambell, the school will again be in RED next week. Work packets and meals will be provided from 11:30 am until 2:00 pm. Please, send only one person from each family to pick up meals. Masks must be worn in order to pick up meals. The school has no additional masks. If you do not wear a mask you will be asked to return with a mask.

When you come to pick up meals please make sure you are wearing a mask, if you aren't wearing a mask, you will be turned away until you have one. Also, if you are in quarantine, please, do NOT come and pick up meals. This is for the protection of our staff. Thank you for your cooperation.
