We were lucky enough to not only get one, but two brand new playgrounds built with the new rubber fall protection as well! A lot of kids and families were out enjoying the first set today and the second will be finished tomorrow. It was so great to see the excitement and joy from everyone!
Please remind your kids to leave the rubber where it is and not throw it around outside of the barrier. The second set will need another day to settle with the concrete so please only play on the wood one for now.
Good afternoon, we have a beautiful new playground! The crew that built it has asked us to stay off of it today though while the concrete settles. Please help us keep this nice and beautiful by giving it the proper time to settle.
BetterSight is in the entry way to the school. They'll be here today and tomorrow from 9am to 8pm. Student exams are free as long as paperwork is filled out and they accept Medicaid. They do contacts as well.
We had a great start to our new school year! Let's keep that good attendance going! It was great to see the classrooms, and hallways full of smiling faces again!
Good afternoon Sivuqaq, we are going to postpone gym until tomorrow in respect to the family. We'll see you up here tomorrow.
Happy Friday! We have atuq from 2:00-2:30, and school is dismissed at 2:30. Hope to see you up here for atuq!
Good afternoon Sivuqaq! Our sub pool is very small at the moment. The only way for us to call you to sub is if you come in and fill out an application for employment and let us know you want to sub. We'll do a background check as well.
Destin and Matt from the U.S. Army Civil Affairs team will teach a class on how to apply tourniquets at 5pm at the school for anyone who wants to attend. Knowing how to properly apply a tourniquet is easy to learn and is one of the most important ways to save lives in the event of an accident.
They taught the high schoolers this morning and the kids did VERY well. See if you can beat their times!
They will also be available afterwards to field any questions.
Good morning Qughsatkut athletes! Sharon has the physical forms in the office for this school year. Please come and fill out ASAP (especially the XC runners). Looking forward to another great year of Qughsatkut Athletics!

Parents, please call the school or text Delma your current number so we can update it in our system. That is also how you get put in for the text alerts from the school. Thank you.
Cross country running has started! If you know of someone interested in XC that is 2nd grade or older, there will be a XC meeting at 3:00 tomorrow outside the school. Come ready to run!
Some of our mighty Qughsatkut students are heading off to Mt. Edgecumbe! We are sad to not have them around but proud of them for taking this leap! Please help us wish them good luck and safe travels!
Good morning Sivuqaq,
We have 4/5 positions for AEC open at the moment. If you would like to fill out an Affidavit of Candidacy and Eligibility then please come in between 8-3:30 this week. We will work closely with AEC in plans for the school and getting necessary community feedback to continue to grow as a school and serve our community as best as possible. Come see Keith if you are interested or just want to know more about how the AEC works to see if you are interested in running.
