We’ll also be hosting a Costume Contest, so come dressed in your spookiest, silliest, or most creative costumes for a chance to win exciting prizes! We can’t wait to see you there! We will be accepting donations of baked goods for the cake walks! If you’re able to contribute, we’d greatly appreciate your support. Please feel free to drop off any baked treats you’d like to donate. Thank you in advance! The Student Store will also be open during the Halloween Carnival! For BINGO players: Please bring your own dabbers or markers.

Good afternoon, Sivuqaq! The NACTEC Team is at the school and will be offering free DMV Permit Tests this week starting today, Tuesday, 11/12 @ 5-6pm and again tomorrow, Wednesday, 11/13 @ 5-6pm, and Thursday, 11/14 @ 5-6pm. All community members 14 years old and up are welcome to take the test. Please bring 1 form of photo ID (a pic of an ID in your phone is fine). This test, plus a vision test, can be mailed in to the state for a rural Alaska driver's license. The NACTEC Team will be set up in the MPR during those hours, so please feel welcome to come and join us there. We look forward to seeing you!

Good Morning Sivuqaq. The BSSD School Board Members declared a vacant board seat for the Gambell and Savoonga communities. This seat will be filled by appointment at a December 4 Special Meeting to be held in the Savoonga School. The appointed board member will serve until the next REAA election. There will be monthly board meetings and stipends. Travel and lodging will be arranged by BSSD. - Candidates must be a resident of Gambell and a registered voter. - Cannot be an employee of BSSD Please contact the school or come by to fill out a Declaration of Candidacy if interested.

Good Afternoon Sivuqaq! As we prepare for our upcoming Veteran’s Day program, we would like to honor our veterans with a special tribute featuring their photographs. We kindly request that you share pictures of our veterans, both in uniform and in civilian attire. **For the program, we would also like to request any uniforms, medals, etc. to display in honor of our Veterans for their service. Please send your photos by Friday, Nov. 8th, 2024, to ensure we have enough time to include them in the program. You can email them directly to me at maggie.gray@gam.bssd.org.
