Biography of Aaron Anderson
I was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and spent the first part of my youth in Cedar Hills, Utah where was able to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. The second part of my youth, I followed my father and mother, an elementary special educator, to Alaska and finished high school in the small bush village of Gambell!
During my life, I have had many adventures, including working as a cannery worker for Trident Seafood’s in South Naknek, Alaska for three seasons. I served a voluntary 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Washington D.C. As a young father, I was able to graduate the Alaska State Trooper Academy and work briefly for the Palmer Police Department. Later on, I worked with disabled adults as a Program Lead for the Utah State Developmental Center for 13 years. I was able to attend three years at Brigham Young University and then one year at Utah Valley University. I have recently completed an elementary/ special education teaching degree online through Grand Canyon University. I am now starting my first teaching position as a sped teacher back at my Alma matter Gambell Schools! At the same time I am pursuing a Masters in Special Education.
I have three children named Tasha (17), Robbie (15), and Grant (6). Through out all my life's experiences, I have never forgotten, nor stopped talking about, my time in Gambell. Now my travels have led me back to my Sivuqaq roots!!
